We would like to invite you to join our webinar series. Our online presentations and workshops are about image analysis breakthroughs from industry leaders and Definiens. Registration is required for these events.
Automated image analysis in pre-clinical safety studies: increasing productivity and delivering significant return on investment. The reading of histology in safety studies is tedious and costly in the context of
a growing shortage of veterinarian pathologists. Since it is done on a rather qualitative or semi-quantitative basis it typically does not leverage the information contained in histology in a detailed, systematic manner
Definiens automated image analysis solutions for toxicology have proven through numerous installations to provide a strong productivity gain, significantly reducing study times from weeks to days. The solutions accurately detect regions of interest and provide reproducible and consistent readouts of morphological deviations in H&E sections. In IHC staining, analysis is based on detailed expression profiles on a cell-by-cell basis. The webinar will discuss a number of sample applications and use cases.

We propose that genetic abnormalities are manifested in subtle phenotypic variations which, with single-cell multiparametric feature analysis, can be identified and leveraged to investigate somatic evolution. Evaluation of distinct subpopulations of cells allows investigators to discern specific morphotypes of cells with dissimilar levels of proliferation, vessel area and density, and prognostic biomarker expression. Furthermore, the development of in-depth feature outlier analysis demonstrates localization patterns for physical features which will allow researchers to probe the underlying biology and details of cancer morphotypic changes.
