Definiens and SKM announces eCognition Training Courses in Australia

Munich, Germany – January 25, 2006: Definiens, a leader in advanced image intelligence solutions, and its Australian reseller Sinclair Knight Merz announces that its eCognition training courses will be available in Australia starting this year. The first course is scheduled for February 16 - 17 in Melbourne. Additional course offerings will be announced later this year.

"With SKM now firmly in place and recognised locally as the eCognition reseller in Australia we now have the possibility to offer regular eCognition training courses to our Australian and New Zealand customers." said Markus Heynen, Manager International Sales & Marketing of Definiens' Earth Business Unit.

Eamonn Grant, Account Manager for SKM went on to say, "This is the next logical step for us to try and promote the use of Definiens cutting edge technology being used to manipulate high resolution imagery such as DigitalGlobe's 60cm Resolution QuickBird data. Bringing Definiens to Melbourne means that our Imager Services customers will receive training directly from the experts."

eCognition Basic and Advanced training courses, taught by Definiens authorized instructors, introduce participants to eCognition Professional™ and provides the foundation for becoming a successful eCognition user. The Basic Seminar covers fundamental concepts of object-oriented image classification and eCognition. Participants learn how to load data, segment satellite images, and apply eCognition's supervised and rule-based classification. The Advanced Seminar builds upon the knowledge gained in the eCognition Basic Seminar and covers advanced functionality of eCognition.
