Definiens Announces eCognition Training Courses in the U.S.


Boulder, CO – October 19, 2005: Definiens, a leader in advanced image intelligence solutions, announces that all of its eCognition training courses will be available in the U.S. starting this year. The first courses are scheduled for December 5 - 6 and December 7 - 8. The 2006 course offerings will be announced soon.

"With the opening of our offices in Boulder and Boston we now have the possibility to offer regular eCognition training courses to our North American customers." said Markus Heynen, Business Manager North America of Definiens Inc., Earth Business Unit. "We want our customers to benefit immediately from our move to the U.S., so we have started developing a comprehensive training course schedule with the first courses being staged in Boulder, CO, in early December".

eCognition Basic and Advanced training courses, taught by Definiens authorized instructors, introduce participants to eCognition Professional™ and provides the foundation for becoming a successful eCognition user. The Basic Seminar covers fundamental concepts of object-oriented image classification and eCognition. Participants learn how to load data, segment satellite images, and apply eCognition's supervised and rule-based classification. The Advanced Seminar builds upon the knowledge gained in the eCognition Basic Seminar and covers advanced functionality of eCognition.
